It’s Kian.
That’s right, the “Guess Who?” actor I featured in my blog entry a while back, is our featured guest on the first issue of Diarito Plate.
Diarito Plate or Plate, is a magazine that talks about food in merienda-sized (snack) servings.
On its pages are (hopefully) entertaining quick-reads on the latest in food science and culture, ingenious recipes, smart ways to shop and handle kitchen matters. Whether your role calls for a flawless host or a magic-waving cook, we’ve tried our best at Plate to make things fun and easy for you. It’s free, with the costs shouldered by sponsors.
But Plate takes the professional standards of journalism very seriously. The “free” concept is actually an offshoot of the publisher’s media literacy advocacy, which I’ll discuss in greater depth later on.

Plate can be accessed not only in print but also online through its website, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and livestreaming.
Aside from food, on the website are magazines on news and current events (Diarito News), sports and travel (Rush) as well as babies and parenting (Kids).
There are more projects in the pipeline, which I hope to announce soon.
